DEATHS: Elizabeth A. Penner, 88

Elizabeth Ann (Regier) Penner, 88, a former Dillon’s Food Store bakery employee and Friends University Preschool head cook, died May 23.


The funeral was Tuesday, May 29, at the First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita. She was buried in the Buhler Cemetery.


She was born Nov. 25, 1912, to Abraham T. and Lizzie (Balzer) Regier in Hooker, Okla. On May 15, 1949, she was married to Menno Penner, who predeceased her in 1989.


She is survived by two brothers, Henry Regier of San Jose, Calif., and Wilbert Regier of Buhler; and three sisters, Bertha Ensz of Buhler, Minnie Siebert of Hutchinson and Irene Soyez of Cedar Point.


A memorial fund has been established with the Children’s Ministries of First Mennonite Brethren Church in Wichita.
