DEATHS: Ethel I. Friesen, 88

Ethel I. Friesen, 88, a housewife and dietician, died May 3 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro.


The funeral was May 7 at the Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church in Hillsboro with pastors Tim Sullivan and Mark Heilman officiating. Burial was in the Gnadenau Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.


She was born Aug. 4, 1912, to Daniel C. Wedel and Molly Jantz in Canton. On May 11, 1938, she was married to Orlando K. Friesen, who predeceased her in 1977.


She is survived by a two daughters, Twila Warner and Gaila Friesen, both of Lincoln, Neb.; a sister, Edna Dyck of Abilene; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; one step-great-grandchild and one step great-great-grandchild.


Memorials have been established with the Calvart Senior Center, Lincoln Berean Church and the Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church.
