Tabor golfers second in KCAC tourney

The Tabor College men’s golf team qualified for the NAIA regional tournament with a second-place finish at the KCAC tournament held April 25 and 26 at the Terradyne Country Club in Wichita.


Bethany won the title with a 54-hole total of 878, 29 strokes ahead of Tabor’s team score of 907. Kansas Wesleyan was a close third at 910, followed by Southwestern at 917, Ottawa at 940 and Friends at 986.


Logan Marshischuk was the top individual for Tabor, finishing in second place, five strokes behind the winner, Sven Delin of Bethany, who carded a 214. Marshischuk beat Bethany’s Mike Morgan in a playoff for the second position after the two tied at 219.


Ebin Waters finished fifth overall with a playoff win over teammate Sam Hodson and Rich Cober of Kansas Wesleyan. All three finished regulation tied at 224.


Rounding out the Bluejay scoring was Ryan Guier with a 240 and Brad Shields at 250.


The Bluejays and Swedes will participate in the NAIA Regional IV Championships May 7 and 8 at Quail Ridge Golf Club in Winfield.
