The Tabor College women hung with third-seeded Bethany through the first half of their KCAC tournament opener Thursday night in Lindsdborg, but the talented Swedes established their dominance in the second half and beat the Jays, 81-64, ending Tabor’s season.
Tabor trailed only by four points at intermission, 35-31. To beat Bethany, Tabor needed a good shooting night and simply didn’t have one. They were 20-of-60 from the field, including 3-of-14 from behind the arc. Bethany, meanwhile, shot almost 50 percent from the floor.
Angela Kroeker and Susan Carter each scored 12 points for Tabor. Meaghan Coe and Rachel Speers added 10 points apiece.
Coach Chanda Rigby finished her first season with a 13-15 record. The women’s team won only two games all last season.
