WEB FLASH: Tabor falls to Ottawa, Feb. 8

The Tabor’s men team swallowed a bitter pill Thursday night, Feb. 8, losing to eighth-place Ottawa, 82-71. The loss dropped Tabor’s KCAC record to 11-3 (16-8 overall). All three losses have come on the road.

The home team led 40-33 at halftime. Tabor struggled to get its offense in sync and could not catch up.

The Bluejays had four players in double figures: Micah Ratzlaff 16, Dustin Frost 14, Kevin Koehn 12, Ernest Nortey 10.

Meanwhile, the Bluejay women were soundly beaten, 86-56, by a Braves team Tabor had defeated 82-72 in their first meeting three weeks earlier.

Tabor trailed by 12 at intermission, 45-23, and the game deteriorated from there. Susan Carter returned to action for Tabor following an absence of several games because of a knee injury. She scored nine points. Tabor’s leading scorer was Holly Ross with 11. Tabor shot 17 of 73 from the field (23 percent).

With the loss, the Jays’ fifth straight, Tabor’s record drops to 5-9 in KCAC play and 10-13 overall.
