Arts & Crafts Assoc. holds yearly meeting

The Hillsboro Arts and Crafts Association held its annual meeting on Tuesday, Jan. 9.


Regular business conducted included the treasurer’s annual report, summary of the year and fair preparations.


Special acknowledgement was given to past president and fair director Aldina Franz, who recently resigned.


Franz was thanked for her tireless efforts and dedication to the association. She has served as president of the organization since 1985 and fair director since 1995.


In December, Franz was feted by the organization at an appreciation holiday luncheon attended by board members and friends.


Arlene Schale was elected as president of the association and Donna Diener will assume the fair director’s position. Marcella Mohn, treasurer, will serve as assistant to Diener.


Other officers include Colleen Koop, vice president; Eunice Matz, secretary; and Franz, consultant.


Preparations for the September fair began this past week.
