State grant awarded to Lost Springs

Lost Springs was one of 29 Kansas communities to share in a total of $8,136,540 in water and sewer grants through the Community Development Block Grant program.


In addition to the 29, four communities have been granted $1.5 million in contingent water and sewer funds.


Lost Springs will receive $170,000 to rehabilitate a lagoon system and make various other modifications.


The city is making a contribution of $252,000 in Kansas Department of Health and Environment loan funds.


The communities involved have until April 6 to rectify any minor problems, prior to official awarding of the funds.
