Silver Chords group to sing at Tabor

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Silver Chords, a women’s quartet, will be featured at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 7 at the annual Christmas Coffee in the Wohlgemuth Music Education Center, Tabor College, Hillsboro.

The program is part of the college-sponsored Learning in Retirement series and anyone over the age of 60 is welcome to attend.

The program will include the quartet’s own arrangements of songs of the season as well as audience singing of familiar carols.

Silver Chords members from Hillsboro are Helen Fenstermacher, Ferne Hiebert and LeOra Grunau. Beverly Richards, also of Hillsboro, is the accompanist.

Because of the quartet’s popularity and the increased participation at “60-Plus” programs, the Christmas Coffee will be scheduled both morning and afternoon with identical formats.

The 2:30 p.m. session is open to the public. Participants are asked to bring a plate of finger food to share for the traditional “goody” buffet.

Registration for non-members will be available at the door and those who have never attended a “60-Plus” before may come without charge.
