Jacob D. Ewert, 81, Hillsboro, died Nov. 19 at the Hillsboro Community Medical Center. He was a retired educator and minister.
The funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 22 at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church with Bruce Porter, Bob Fenstermacher and Nadine Friesen officiating.
Burial will be in the Springfield Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
Ewert was born Oct. 1, 1919, at Bingham Lake, Minn., to David H. Ewert and Agatha Baerg.
On Aug. 3, 1951, he was married to Linda Heinrichs, who survives him.
He is also survived by three sons, Tom of Portland, Ore., Paul of Hannibal, Mo., and Lyle of Denver, Colo.; four daughters, Norma Tippin, Hillsboro, Sharon Jost, Hillsboro, Marlene Ewert and Carol Owens, both of Wichita; three brothers, William, Abe and Adam; three sisters, Margaret Rempel, Anna Ewert, Lena Ewert; and 13 grandchildren.
A memorial has been established for the Mennonite Central Committee or Tabor College.
