Michael Fisher has joined the Hillsboro Police Department as a certified part-time officer.
Fisher graduated from the part-time officer basic training program at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center Oct. 27. Fisher graduated first in his class with an academic score of 96.5 percent.
The course consists of 80 hours of intensive training in several law enforcement related topics.
