The Tabor College Bluejay men reeled off a 12-2 run to start the second half enroute to a 101-69 win over Central Christian of McPherson Friday night in the first round of the Tabor Classic.
The Jays led by only nine at the half, 47-38.
Kevin Koehn led the Bluejays with 20 points on 8-of-11 shooting from the field. Micah Ratzlaff added 17, Dustin Frost 15 and Lance Redetzke came off the bench to score 11 points in about 10 minutes of playing time.
As a team the Jays shot 60 percent from the field, which was helped by 19 assists on some good inside feeds to set up some easy shots.
With the win, Tabor moves to 2-0 on the season following Tuesday night’s 78-75 win over Northwestern Oklahoma State in Alva. On Saturday night, the Bluejays will face St. Gregory in the second round of the Tabor Classic. St. Gregory lost to McPherson College, 78-65 on Friday night.
