GHS to present ‘Godspell’

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
The Goessel High School will present “Godspell” at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 10, 11 and Nov. 12 at 2 p.m.

This musical is one of the biggest on- and off-Broadway musicals of all time. The script is based on the Gospel of St. Matthew, and is composed of parables approached in a contemporary manner through pantomime, children’s games, vaudeville, tap and soft-shoe dancing.

The audience will have a chance to see the parables of Christ come to life.

The ballad, pop and rock songs include “Day by Day,” “Prepare Ye the Way of the Lord,” “Turn Back, O Man,” and others.

The cast is Ami Miller, Ryan Glendenning, Jeff Franzen, Zac Church, Vaughn Miller, Jeremy Miller, Sara Ratzlaff, Katie Schroeder, Ben Schmidt, Tara Goerzen, Katherine Krehbiel and Melinda Stuckey.

“We have already had so many wonderful experiences with the music and staging of ‘Godspell,'” said director Greg Bontrager. “It is so powerful and the students are doing an exceptional job. We are all extremely excited to share this with the community.”
