DEATHS: Louise H. Balzer, 84

Louise H. Balzer, 84, North Newton, died Oct. 22 at the Newton Medical Center, Newton. She was a retired home economics teacher of 34 years, including many at Hillsboro High School.



The graveside service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 26, at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church Cemetery, rural Whitewater.



The funeral will follow at the church at 11 a.m. at the Grace Hill Mennonite Church, rural Newton, with James Voth officiating.



Family will receive friends at the Petersen Funeral Home, Newton, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 25.



Louise Balzer was born Oct. 18, 1916, to David H. and Helena Peters Schroeder in Mountain Lake, Minn. On Jan. 1, 1942, she was married to Arthur Balzer, who survives.



She is also survived by a daughter, Ann Balzer Doerksen, Newton; two brothers, Menno and Robert Schroeder, both of Mountain Lake, Minn; and two sisters, Pauline Balzer, Whitewater, and Edna Nickel, Mountain Lake; and two grandchildren.
