Members of the Goessel FFA Chapter attended the Greenhand Motivational Conference Sept. 27 at Hutchinson hosted by the South Central District officers.

Throughout the conference, members could visit with the district officers: Emily Bergkamp, state treasurer from Arkansas City; Orrin Holle, Kansas state sentinel from Atwood; Jo Shultz, national vice president from DeGraff, Ohio; and Eric Schilling, global experience ambassador from Seward, Neb.

While learning and developing friendships with others across the district, the students spent three hours exploring the realm of their untapped leadership potential.

Each participant had the opportunity to get to know state officers and a national FFA officer. Time was also provided for personal reflection and goal setting. The conference was open to all Kansas FFA first-year members.

Members attending the conference were Korrie Bennett, Derrek Duerksen, Lane Franzen, Alexander Goossen, Lance Hiebert, Michael Jost, AJ Overton, Talyor Schmidt, Dylan Buller, Shane Campbell, Nicholas Peters, Jeremy Voth and Josh Voth.

More than 1,700 FFA members and advisors from 100 chapters participated in the seven conferences. Organization and conduction of the conference were facilitated by the officers of the Kansas FFA, the Department of Secondary Education, College of Education at Kansas State University, and the Kansas State Board of Education.
