Training offered for hospice volunteers

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
Central Homecare and Hospice, serving Harvey, Marion and McPherson counties, will be offering hospice volunteer training to anyone who is interested in learning about hospice or becoming a volunteer.

The 10 hours of training helps volunteers assist others at the end of their life journey.

Participants will learn the philosophy of hospice, meet the hospice team, learn how to communicate with compassion and discover their feelings about the dying process.

Advanced training in grief and bereavement will be offered in November.

Training is free to the public and there is no obligation. Male volunteers are particularly needed.

Contact Donna E. Becker at 316-283-8220 or 316-241-6677 by Oct. 12 to register. Location will be announced at that time.
