Hillsboro-Marion CROP Walks Oct. 8

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
The Hillsboro-Marion CROP Walk will take place Sunday afternoon Oct. 8 at Cottonwood Point on the east shore of Marion Reservoir.

Area walkers will join more than 2.3 million people in about 2,000 towns and cities across the United States who collect funds from their communities to help stop hunger in Marion County and in more than 80 countries around the world.

Twenty five percent of the local collections will help replenish the shelves at the Marion County Food Bank. Walkers will assemble at 1:55 p.m. at the reservoir.

Crop Walks in Marion County last year netted $9,382. Goessel collected $4,855, Hillsboro $3,400 and Marion $1,127.

Contributors to CROP may designate their own denominational relief agency to receive their contributions. For more information, call Paul Jantzen, 947-5433; Kathy Noriega 382-8971; or Esther Schmidt 367-2342.
