Bethesda Home to hold Pillar’s Banquet

Bethesda Home of Goessel will host their 12th annual Pillar’s Banquet at 7 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 21 at the Cross Wind Conference Center near Hesston with a punch bowl and informal social time beginning at 6:30 p.m.



All proceeds from the benefit meal and program go to reduce the bond indebtedness of the 1988 facility expansion.



Entertainment will feature Al Schmidt, a nationally traveled humorist and motivational speaker who has given presentations to small employee groups and at large conventions.



Schmidt’s presentations are “a little off the couch,” according to organizers. He comes equipped with illustrative metaphors, toys, balloons, songs, poems and a banjo/ guitar.



Schmidt is a native of Lehigh, and was born in the Bethesda Hospital. He is a licensed clinical social worker and marriage and family therapist. His primary focus for the past 10 years has been as a certified employee assistance professional for Via Christi Health Systems.



Tickets are $100 each ($89 tax deductible) and may be purchased by calling the Bethesda Home administration office at 316-367-2291. Tickets must be purchased by Oct. 11.
