Hillsboro blood drive sets later hours

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
The Hillsboro American Red Cross blood drive will be held from 2-6 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 7, at the Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church, 104 S. Washington.

The later hours have been set to accommodate donors who wish to participate after work. Appointments are encouraged, but walk-in donors are welcome.

Donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds and must be in general good health.

The ARC reports that blood supplies are still low and that the supply of Type O-positive is critically low.

Local organizers have set a goal of collecting 65 units of blood, which could help save as many as 95 lives.
