Maag promoted to master trooper

Roger E. Maag, Marion, was promoted to “master trooper” by the Kansas Highway Patrol June 25.



The master trooper rank is an advanced professional and technical law enforcement position within the patrol.



Maag joined the patrol June 18, 1989, and was assigned road patrol duties as a field trooper in Lakin. He transferred to Wichita in 1992, then to Marion in 1994.



In addition to his field duties, Maag is a member of the patrol’s special response team.



Maag is a graduate of Marion High School and is attending Barton County Community College, where he is pursuing a degree in criminal justice.



Prior to joining KHP, Maag was a deputy sheriff for Marion County.
