WEDDINGS: Winter and Kysar exchange vows June 23

Kimberly Ann Winter, Hillsboro, and Brandon Derr Kysar, Waynoka, Okla., were married June 23 in a double-ring ceremony at the United Methodist Church in Hillsboro.



Pastor Corey Miller officiated. Owen Modeland, the bride’s grandfather, delivered “words of wisdom.”



The bride is the daughter of Norman and Gloria Winter, Hillsboro. Grandparents of the bride are Owen and Betty Modeland of Oklahoma, City, Okla. Honorary grandmother is Frances Helmer, Marion.



The groom is the son of Scott and Robin Kysar, Waynoka, Okla. Grandparents of the groom are J.D. and Jeannie Kysar of Waynoka.



The altar and aisle were decorated with white roses, egg-plant lilacs, ivy and tulle. Spiral and arch-shaped candelabra highlighted the candlelight service.



The bride, escorted by her father, wore a princess gown of white satin accented with hand-beaded, re-embroidered lace. Pearl trim embellished the V-neckline and tulip sleeves. The semi-cathedral length train featured lace appliques encrusted with pearls. Her fingertip veil with soutash edging was accented with a tiara. She carried a bouquet of white roses, ivy and satin-edged organza ribbons.



Maid of honor was Jami Loewen, Hillsboro, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lanelle Imke, Stillwater, Okla.; Leslie Fuson, Shreveport, La.; and Mendy Scoville, Oklahoma City. Flower girl was Dakota Kaufman of Durham.



Best man was Preston Kysar, Waynoka, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Scott Winter, Hillsboro; Corey Miller, Alva, Okla.; and Dudley Darrow, also of Alva.



Ushers were Kevin Winter, Hillsboro, and Dennis Fuson, Sachse, Texas. The ringbearer, nine-month-old Jackson Minton of Enid, Okla., was carried down the aisle by Scott Winter, the bride’s brother.



The candlelighters were John and Josh Gilchrist of Alva, Dalina Winter, Lancaster, Pa., and Melanie Fuson, Sachse, were the guestbook attendants. Programs were distributed by Krista Winter and Audrey Loewen, both of Hillsboro.



Musicians were Kathy Decker, Hillsboro, organist; Rod Koons, Hillsboro, soloist; Kiley Regier, Alva, soloist; and Lewis Hagen, Hillsboro, trumpeter.



The bride’s personal attendant was Carissa Funk, Hillsboro.



A dinner reception, coordinated by Melissa Bartel, Hillsboro, was held following the ceremony in the church fellowship hall.



Serving as hosts and hostesses were Warren and Jean Winter, Hillsboro; Tim and Debbie Kaufman, Durham; Sheila Gilchrist, Alva; Julie Fuson, Rockwall, Texas; and Joy Minton, Enid.



Reception attendants were Jan Frantz, Linda Friesen, Audrey Loewen, Rita Loewen and Christine Unruh, all of Hillsboro.



The bride is a graduate of Hillsboro High School and Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She is a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma, pursuing a master’s degree in speech pathology.



The groom is a graduate of Waynoka High School and NOSU with bachelor degrees in mass communication and secondary education. He is employed as a secondary math teacher and football coach in Edmond, Okla.



Following a honeymoon trip to Jamaica, the couple resides in Oklahoma City.
