DEATHS: Pete Hiebert, 87

Pete E. Hiebert, rancher and farmer, died Aug. 10 at Parkside Homes in Hillsboro. He was 87.



The funeral service was held Tuesday, Aug. 15, at the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church near Hillsboro with pastor Gaylord Goertzen officiating. He was buried in the Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Cemetery in rural Hillsboro.



He was born March 21, 1913, to Peter P. Hiebert and Margaret Claassen Hiebert in Hillsboro. On Oct. 21, 1941, he married Elma Dirks, who predeceased him.



He is survived by a daughter, Arlene Crawford of Topeka; two brothers, Otto and Louis Hiebert, both of Hillsboro; a sister, Lillian Entz of Newton; two grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.



Memorials have been established with the Parkinson’s Foundation.
