WEDDINGS: Verbeck, Dalke exchange vows May 13

Jana Rae Verbeck, Wichita, and Dale Brandon Dalke, rural Hillsboro, were married Saturday, May 13, at Evangel Assembly of God Church, Wichita, with pastors Gaylord Goertzen and Vance Cauthan officiating the double-ring ceremony.

Parents of the couple are Jerry and Linda Verbeck, Wichita, and Dan and Donna Dalke, rural Hillsboro. Grandparents are Ruth Davidson, Wichita, Lloyd Verbeck,Wichita, Doris Dalke, Hillsboro, and Bob Delk, rural Marion.

Joli Verbeck, Douglass, served her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Jenny Verbeck, Denton, Texas, also sister of the bride.

Dustin Dalke, Hays, served his brother as best man. Groomsman was Darrel Dalke, Hillsboro, also a brother of the groom.

Candlelighter was Dana Maxfield, Lehigh, sister of the groom. Ushers were Dustin and Darrell Dalke. Guestbook attendant was Valerie Brauer, Manhattan. Gift carriers were Megan and Ashlee Verbeck, Wichita, cousins of the bride.

Vocalists were Melissa Stucky, Newton, cousin of the groom, and Rob Delk, rural Peabody, uncle of the groom. Pianists were Steve Hanneman, rural Peabody, and Sharron Pecenka, Wichita. Violinist was Faye Palmer, Wichita.

The bride’s gown was fashioned with a fitted skirt and a short train, with the gown covered with sequins and beads. The bride carried a bouquet of long-stemmed calla lilies, roses, and veriegated vinea ivy. The church was decorated with large sprays of oriental lilies and gladoli.

A reception dinner was held following the ceremony in the church fellowship hall, hosted by Randy and Linda Esterline, Wichita. The meal was catered by Tim Unruh and Galin Funk, with Matt Jost assisting with serving. All are from Hillsboro.

Pie and ice cream servers were Shelia Hammer and H.B. Barlow, both of Wichita. Punch servers were Wayne Verbeck and Jack Verbeck, both of Wichita, and Lloyd Verbeck Jr., Cleveland, Ohio, all uncles of the bride. Fresh-cut iris and peonies were strewn down the center of the dinner tables.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Valley Center High School and was a senior horticulture student at Kansas State University. She is employed at Johnson’s Garden Center in Wichita.

The groom is a graduate of Hillsboro High School, Northwest Kansas Area Vo-Tech, and Colby Community College. He is employed with Bob Bergkamp Dirt Construction, Wichita.

Following the honeymoon trip to Colorado, the couple reside at 5719 North Legion, Wichita.

A rehearsal meal prepared and hosted by the groom’s parents was served in the church fellowship hall on Thursday, May 11.
