Northview receives full licensure, moves staff to new offices

Northview Developmental Services, Inc., a provider of community services to developmentally disabled children and adults, has received “full licensure” from the state and moved its employment services staff into new offices in Newton.

Following a review of the organization’s services by the state’s Social Rehabilitative Services’ quality assurance division, completed June 30, the state concluded that Northview was in “complete compliance with all licensing regulations.” That is the highest outcome that can be attained.

Dale Anderson, Northview’s board chair, said, “This review confirms the board’s faith in the fact that quality services are being provided by dedicated staff.”

Meanwhile, Northview’s employment services staff have moved to newly remodeled offices at Northview Industries, 2915 N. Anderson.

“Employment services needed to be centralized where our consumers are located,” said Brenda Schmidt, employment services coordinator.

Northview provides job searches, job coaching, and subcontract work training to developmentally disabled adults in the Harvey and Marion County area.

The downtown office location was closed because it was not of sufficient size and accessibility for any other support services.
