The Hillsboro Municipal Pool will be hosting a “Dog Days of Summer Swimming Party” from 9 p.m. to midnight, Friday, Aug. 4.
A variety of activities are planned, including dog-paddle races, diving for change, a 100-yard family relay, a biggest-splash contest, and a best belly-flop contest.
Admission will be $1 per person. Food and prizes are included.
Wendy McCarty, co-manager of the pool, said pool hours will be different during the week of the Marion County Fair. From Wednesday, Aug. 9, to Friday, Aug. 11, the pool will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., but closed for the evening. Saturday hours will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m..
Regular hours resume Sunday. The hours for Sunday are 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.
