Two Hillsboro High School students competed in wrestling at the Sunflower State Games held this weekend in Lawrence.

Ryan Janzen and Tim Glahn, both incoming freshmen this fall, faced tough competition in their matches.

Glahn lost the first two matches in his five-man bracket.

Janzen, meanwhile, finished third in bracket. He pinned his first-round opponent, then lost his second match by a fall. His final match went the full three periods, but Janzen lost on points, 9-2.

By finishing third, Janzen qualified for the State Games of America to be held in St. Louis, Aug. 10-12, 2001.
