Roland K. “Rollie” Duerksen, 80, employed at the Farmers Grain Coop in Lehigh, died July 30 at Hillsboro Community Medical Center.
Services were held Aug. 2 at First Mennonite Church, Hillsboro, with pastor Ruth Penner officiating. Burial was at Lehigh Mennonite Cemetery, rural Lehigh.
He was born Jan. 21, 1920, to Cornelius R. Duerksen and Martha Funk in Lehigh. On May 14, 1942, he was married to MaryAnn Ewert, who survives him.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis Wade of Fort Lupton, Colo., and Delmar L. of McPherson; a daughter, Florette Elaine Decker of Hays; four brothers, Mildor D. of Inman, Harlin of Newton, Willie of Newton and Gerald of Dallas, Texas; three sisters, Elfrieda Gaeddert of Buhler, Irma Groening of Hillsboro and Luetta Enns of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial fund has been established for the Mennonite Central Committee.
