Aulne church plans benefit auction for missions programs

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN
The Aulne United Methodist Church will hold an auction to benefit its missions programs at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 5, in the church basement. The auction, dubbed “Services and Stuff,” has given members of all ages an opportunity to contribute items for sale.

Church youth, for example, have donated baby-sitting hours, hand-tied fishing flies and a fall yard clean-up.

Fishing enthusiasts in the church have offered two guided fishing trips to Marion Reservoir. Members who have a culinary knack are willing to cook a Mexican dinner for four to six people, and bake a pie or three dozen chocolate chip cookies a month for one year.

Those who prefer to do their own cooking can bid on farm-raised beef.

Other “stuff” includes a picnic table, doll house, barbecue grill and much more.

Concessions will be available for purchase.

Lyle Leppke of Seibel Real Estate, a member of the church, will call the auction. The public is invited to participate.
