The Marion County Republican women are planning a “Meet the Candidates Public Forum” at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 19 at the Scout House in Hillsboro.

A reception will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the forum to follow. The meeting is open to the public.

All Republican candidates for public office will be allowed to present their position on issues and time will be offered for questions from the audience. The forum is not intended to be a debate, according to Jami Williams, organization president.

Contested primary races involving GOP candidates in Marion County are for the 17th and 35th district seats in the Kansas Senate, District 2 and District 3 for the Marion County Board of Commissioners, county attorney and county sheriff.
