Wes and Erma Pankratz, a husband-wife team from Hillsboro, won three gold medals at the Salina Senior Games 2000, June 16-17.
The games featured competition in golf, billiards, horseshoes, bowling, basketball free throws, 10-kilometer road racing, cycling, shuffleboard, tennis, racquetball, table tennis, racewalking, track and field, and swimming. Competitors were divided into five-year age divisions from 55 to 85 years.
Wes won the singles competition for men in the 75-79 age division, Irma won the women?s 70-74 division in shuffleboard, and the two paired up to win the mixed doubles gold medal in the 70-74 division.
