Five Goessel High School students have been selected to attend the Entrepreneurship Students Taking Action for Recognition events at the 2000 National Leadership Meeting of the Family, Career and Community Leaders Association.

The meeting will be held July 8- 14 in Orlando, Fla.

During the meeting, students will compete in STAR events and learn about new projects, as well as learn things they can bring back to their group.

Students from Goessel will be competing in two categories at the meeting.

Tonya Jacobs and Megan Withiam will compete in entrepreneurship.

Jacobs and Withiam developed everything they would need to start a teen center in Goessel and put it together in a portfolio.

Eunice Voth, Ashley Soyez and Sara Ratzlaff will be competing in the chapter service projects.

Their project, RASK?Random Acts of Senseless Kindness?involved the students in such activities as taking lunch to construction workers, paying for gas for people and raking leaves.

To qualify for the national meeting, FCCLA students had to receive a certain number of points at the district and state levels.
