The Aulne United Methodist Church will be celebrating its 125th birthday Sunday, July 2. The day-long celebration combines the church?s anniversary events with annual Fourth of July activities.
The celebration begins with Sunday school at 9 a.m., followed by a worship service at 10 and a basket dinner at noon. People need to bring their own table service to the dinner.
A 2 p.m. program will include music provided by the Aulne Quartet, vocalist Julie Nelson and trombonist Brice Nelson, a skit, and a message from Steve Rankin, a former pastor.
Past and present members and ministers, as well as friends and family, will have time to visit and get reacquainted from 4 to 5 p.m.
Following that, a light supper will be served.
A gospel program featuring Bob (Delk) and the Boys will start at 7 p.m., followed by an ice cream social at 8 p.m. The celebration will conclude with fireworks at 9:45 p.m.
The congregation has close to 110 members, with an average attendance of 85 to 90.
