True Value/Jimmy Dean Country Showdown 1997 Kansas winner Jaime Leigh
and her band will perform in concert at 8 p.m., July 1, at Central
Park, Marion.
Leigh entered the True Value contest again in 1999 and by November had
won the Midwest Regional title and qualified as one of the top six
amateur country acts in the United States, appearing on the stage of
the Grand Ole? Opry in her national television debut.
Leigh is currently competing in Ed McMahon?s ?Next Big Star,? an
online Internet contest.
She has made it to the semifinals and if she wins at this level, she
will go to the finals at Universal Studios in Orland
