Anna Schmidt, 83, who worked at Heidebrecht Meats for several years
and was a volunteer at the Et Cetera Shop in Hutchinson, died May 22
at Hutchinson Hospital.
Graveside services were held May 26 at Hoffnungsau Cemetery near
Buhler, followed by a memorial service at Hoffnungsau Mennonite
Church, with Dean Linsenmeyer officiating.
She was born March 24, 1917, to Solomon P. and Agnes Friesen Ediger in
McPherson County. On Dec. 15, 1939, she was married to Arnold B.
Schmidt, who predeceased her.
Survivors include two sons, Larry and Arlo, both of Moundridge; two
daughters, Marilyn Flaming of Peabody and Judy Goering of Hillsboro;
two sisters, Linda Guhr of North Newton and Esther Nikkel of
Moundridge; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established for the Hoffnungsau Mennonite
Church and Pleasant View Home in care of Buhler
