Canton-Galva grad awarded county agriculture scholarship

James Anderson, a Canton-Galva High School graduate, has been selected

for the 2000 Marion County Agriculture Future of America Scholarship.



Anderson received the $3,700 scholarship from Cooperative Grain and

Supply, Midlands Farm Service of Marion and Emprise Bank, Hillsboro,

in conjunction with Agriculture Future of America.



He plans to attend Kansas State University where he will study

agriculture technology.



The goal of the scholarship is to identify students with strong

potential who are interested in pursuing a career opportunity in

agriculture.



It is given to a student enrolled in a two- or four-year college with

intentions of pursuing a four-year agriculture degree.



As in past years, the recipient was chosen based on community service,

leadership roles, work experience and potential as a student; an essay

on ?Personal Vision for Agriculture;? and an interview with a panel of

individuals representing the agricult
