Ruth Koontz, 79, accountant for Bethel College and Irv Schroeder
Motors, died May 18 at Newton Medical Center.
Services were held May 22 at Bethel College Mennonite Church, with
pastors Norma Johnson and Steve Yoder officiating. Burial was at
Haven
of Rest Cemetery, rural Hillsboro.
She was born Nov. 18, 1920, to P.R. Schroeder and Susie Nickel in
Berne, Ind. On Aug. 8, 1944, she was married to Elbert E. Koontz,
who
predeceased her.
Survivors include three sons, Phillip and Richard ?Dick,? both of
North Newton, and Ted of Elkhart, Ind.; a sister, Vernelle Waltner
of
North Newton; and five grandchildren.
Memorial funds have been established for Bethel College and
Western
District Mennonite
