Forfeits leave softball team at 16-4

The Hillsboro High School softball team ended its regular season with

a pair of forfeit wins from Canton-Galva last Tuesday.



The Eagles did not have enough healthy players to field a full team.



With the wins, the Trojans finished the regular season with a 16-4

record, the best in the three-year history of the program.



The Trojans are the No. 1 seed in this week?s regional tournament at

the Sports Complex in Hillsboro. They will play the winner of

yesterday?s play-in game between Beloit and Marion.



The Trojans will begin action at 4:30 p.m. If they win that game, they

will advance to the championship game against the winner of Southeast

of Saline and Herington, who also play at 4:30. The championship game

is scheduled to follow those semifinal games at
