The annual Volunteer Banquet is planned for the Senior Center at 6

p.m., Friday, May 12.



The Gospel Gramps and Grannies of Salina will present a musical

program. Sign up for a reservation and come out to honor the

volunteers.



There is still room on the van for the trip to the Rolling Hills

Refuge May 15, near Salina. Over 40 species of animals are exhibited

at the refuge, many of which are endangered in the wild.



Trams provide transportation to view the animals and lunch will be

eaten at the restaurant on the refuge. The van will leave at 9:15 a.m.



May 17 is the covered dish luncheon. Prior to the luncheon, Senior

Center Post Office is available. Dr. Zafar will be there at 11:15 a.m.

The meal is at noon, followed by a program by Roberta Seibel on the

musical saw and other instruments.



Foot care by Mary McFadden is planned for May 11 and 18 beginning at 9

a.m. Also on May 11 is a program sponsored by the extension council,

?5-a Day for Better Health.? It will follow the meal.



The following volunteered at the center last week:



Kitchen – Gladys Jantz, Millie Hanneman, Irma Koop, Irma Groening,

Judy Malin, Verna Funk, Elda Ebel, Mildred Harding, Mariann Unruh and

Fern Unruh.



Meal drivers – Harold Jost and Wilbur Hanneman.



FISH transportation – Helen Fadenrecht, Albert Fadenrecht, Harry Thye

and Betty Bernhardt.



SENIOR MENU



May 10: Oven fried chicken, mashed potatoes/gravy, green bean plaki,

whole wheat roll, strawberries.



May 11: Taco salad/chips or taco burger, carrots, pineapple, chocolate

chip cookie.



May 12: Roast beef, mashed potatoes/ gravy, broccoli and cauliflower,

whole wheat roll, strawberry angel cake.



May 15: Meat loaf, baked potato, creamed cabbage, whole wheat bread,

peaches.



May 16: BBQ pork on bun, baked beans, spinach or peas and onions,

pineapple upside down cake.
