EDITORIAL: Looking to improve

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY DON RATZLAFF
Libraries are wonderful places, but I will admit that I sometimes shutter when I spend much time in one. To be surrounded by so many books to read can be intimidating. Sometimes the thought having so many books to choose from paralyzes me from choosing even one. Where do you begin when you have so many choices?

I?m beginning to feel the same way about newspaper contests. The Free Press received seven awards from the Kansas Press Association last weekend for our editorial endeavors. Rather than bask in the the affirmation, I found myself growing increasingly frustrated for being so far from the level of competency we want to achieve.

Where do you begin to work for improvement when you have so many opportunities to choose from? If you have suggestions, let us know. We truly want to improve. Lord knows we have room for it.
