Churches plan Easter festivities

Hillsboro churches will offer a variety of services and gatherings to celebrate Easter.



First Mennonite Church will hold a Maundy Thursday service at 6:30 p.m., April 20. It will include communion and a Tenebrae service.



On Easter, a sunrise service is planned for 7 a.m. at Abrahams? Cabin, four miles south on Indigo, and one and a fourth mile west. The service is being held with Trinity Mennonite Church and will be followed by breakfast at 9 a.m. and worship at 10.



Trinity is having a light meal and communion for its Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m.



Following the sunrise service at Abrahams? Cabin, breakfast will be served at 9 a.m. at the church and worship is at 10. Sunday school classes will not meet.



Parkview Mennonite Brethren Church will offer a Maundy Thursday service which will include reflection, communion and foot washing. It will begin at 7 p.m.



The Easter sunrise service will be held on the east lawn of the church, followed by breakfast in the activity center, then worship services at 8:30 and 10:45 a.m.



The Hillsboro United Methodist Church will have a Good Friday service at 8 p.m. It will be a Tenebrae service.



A sunrise service will be held at 6:30 a.m. in the church parking lot, with Sunday school at 9:30 and worship at 10:30. The morning service will be broadcast at 6 p.m. on cable Channel 45.



Ebenfeld Mennonite Brethren Church will hold an Easter Sunday worship service at 10:30 a.m.



Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church will celebrate the season with two services.



A Good Friday service, titled ?The Cross?Then and Now,? will be held at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. It will include communion, music and meditation.



On Easter, the church is offering a sunrise service at 6:30 at Willow Glen Pond. The worship service that follows at 10 a.m.will include a choir musical and baptism. Sunday school classes will not meet.
