Twelve members, four chapter parents and an advisor of the Family, Career, Community leaders of America Chapter of Centre High School attended the FCCLA Leadership Showcase held April 3 and 4 in Wichita.
During the showcase, more than 2,000 members form across the state participated in a variety of leadership activities.
Members attended track sessions dealing with the main focus of FCCLA, family, career and leadership skills. The keynote speaker was Bill Cordes, who spoke on building the communication link with peers, adults, teachers and parents. He also gave tips on building positive relationships, trust and skills for relating to and understanding others.
?Kansas Kids: Leaders of the Pack? gave an entertaining and informative performance on crucial issues teenagers must face today.
Centre chapter also won the chapter service award for Renee Ecklund?s work on the Elf Auction held in November. Crystal Goza received recognition for completing all five Power of One Awards and won a free year in the FCCLA Alumni Chapter. Denise Beneke was installed as a District C officer at the state meeting.
