USDA center adds automatic phone attendant system

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY STAFF
The Marion County U.S. Department of Agriculture Service Center now employs an automatic recording attendant for all telephone calls received.

Callers will hear a recorded message instructing them on how to reach specific USDA agencies and their personnel. Those wishing to speak to the Farm Service Agency will dial 2 and those wishing to speak with the Natural Resource Conservations Service or County Conservation District office will dial 3. Producers wanting to hear the daily loan deficiency payment rates will dial 7.

Those callers dialing from a rotary phone must remain on the line for an operator.

These changes are being made in USDA centers across the nation and the office asks for the public?s patience while converting to the new service. The service center can be reached at 316-382-3714.
