County attorney offers meeting on handling bad checks

County Attorney Dan Baldwin is inviting area business to participate in a meeting April 3 to discuss the collection, prosecution and repayment program for insufficient funds checks written to county merchants.

The meeting will last from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the east room of the Marion City Hall.

Baldwin will explain the Kansas worthless-check law, explain how to make legally sufficient notification when bad checks are written, and encourage a network with other merchants to enhance check-acceptance procedures.
