Two members of the Hillsboro Wrestling Club qualified to participate in the Kansas State Wrestling Folkstyle Championship Tournament to be held March 25-26 at the Kansas Expocentre in Topeka.

Aaron Bina of Lincolnville and Steve Boone of Marion qualified in the 14-and-under class by finishing among the top four wrestlers in their respective age and weight classes at the District III Wrestling Tournament held in Buhler on Saturday.

Bina, 7-year-old son of Raymond and Denise Bina, actually qualified in two age categories. He finished with a 3-0 record and a first-place finish in the under-46-pound weight class for 6-and-under and 8-and under classes.

Bina qualified for the 6-and-under class because he was 6 years old on the qualifying date.

Boone earned a third-place medal in the 14-and-under 165-pound class with a 1-2 record.

Others participating in the meet, but not qualifying were Brady Blazek, Chance Reece, Ryan Janzen, James Bina, Tim Glahn and Levi Arnold.

Corey Burton, Hillsboro High School wrestling coach, directs the wrestling club program.
