HHS band, choir students compete in music festival

The Hillsboro High School band and choir students took part in the MCAA Music Festival March 7.



The band received ratings of I, II+ and II.



Hannah Forsythes received a I+ for her clarinet solo. Students receiving a I rating for their performance, included Chelsey D?Albini, flute; Amanda Ratzloff, flute; Dustin Friesen, French horn; and Brad Just, trombone.



The trumpet ensemble of Garrett Call, Wade Sorensen, Jordan Woelk, Trista Hanley, Angie Claassen, Drew Cederberg, Andy Unger and Shawn Hughbanks received a I rating.



The low brass ensemble, including Dustin Friesen, Peter Richert, Alan Yoder, Matt Hein, Ryan Funk, Eric Bartel and Scott Nuss, also received a I.



Students receiving II ratings for their solos were Caleb Dirks, Angie Claassen, Peter Richert and Mike Penner.



The percussion ensemble of Kendra Anderson, Kenneth Temaat, Beth Slater and Billy Winegarner also received a II rating.



The choir received three I ratings for its performance.



Vocal students Alan Yoder, Garrett Call, Scott Isaac, Aislinn Conrad, Jonathan Regier, Nicholas Unruh, Brandon Ratzlaff, Brad Just, Melanie Sullivan and Heidi Friesen received I ratings for their solos.



The small boys ensemble (I), girls ensemble (I) and Spirit ?N Celebration also received I ratings.
