Commodities will arrive at the Senior Center at 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 14. Spaghetti, orange juice, whole kernel corn, rice cereal, pears, non-fat dry milk, green beans, peanut butter and tomato sauce are available to those who qualify under income guidelines.
Tax help will be available at the center beginning March 28. Liz Ryding will be in the center from 1 to 4 p.m., Tuesdays and Fridays.
On March 15, a covered dish lunch in planned. Following the meal, Elfrieda Funk will present a program, ?What Makes Parkside Tick?? Senior Center post office is available at 11 a.m. and Dr. Zafar will be there at 11:15.
Foot care and blood pressure checks are planned at the center at 10:30 a.m. on March 7 and 9 a.m. on March 9 and 16. Dr. Reeh will speak on the topic ?Skin Cancer? after lunch on March 16.
The following volunteered their time at the Senior Center last week.
Kitchen: Gladys Jantz, Rosa Hatcher, Nellie Jost, Irma Koop, Irma Groening, Mildred Jantz, Judy Malin, Mildred Harding, Vi Suderman, Edna Spinks, Mariann Unruh and Fern Unruh.
Meal drivers: Harold Jost, Elgin Bartel, Harold Pankratz, Lonn Richards and Al and Jeri Klose.
FISH transportation: Harry Thye, Albert Fadenrecht, Helen Fadenrecht and Irene Seibel.
SENIOR MENU
March 8: Salisbury steak or baked fish, scalloped potatoes, harvard beets, whole wheat roll, fresh orange.
March 9: Roast turkey/gravy, baked sweet potato, breaded tomatoes, dressing, whole wheat roll, banana cake.
March 10: Oven fried chicken or lemon fish, mashed potatoes/gravy, succotash, apple muffin, strawberries/bananas.
March 13: Chuck wagon steak, herbed potatoes, peas, whole wheat roll, strawberry/peach Jell-O.
March 14: Chili, crackers, tossed salad, cinnamon roll.
March 15: Covered dish.
