Parent retreat aims to establish support network in county

A Parent Network Retreat will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., April 8, at Morning Star Ranch, near Florence.



Any family in need of a support network is invited to attend. It is open to all parents and children ages five to 12.



Lunch and a snack will be provided in a nurturing family atmosphere. Included in the day are an educational video, presentations for parents and family activities. The goal of the retreat is to establish parent networks with regular meting times.



Each participant will receive a packet of materials listing resources, videos available for use at parent meetings, and names and phone numbers of leaders.



Lists of the new parent support/ networking groups will be published in school newsletters.



The event, sponsored by a mini-grant from the Kansas Health Ministries, is free of charge.
