Lippoldt resigns as S-J managing editor

ORIGINALLY WRITTEN BY STAFF
Keith Lippoldt has resigned as managing editor of the Hillsboro Star-Journal. He has accepted a job as sports desk editor with the Hutchinson News, effective the first week of March.

Lippoldt came to the Star-Journal in September. In the six years prior to that, Lippoldt had worked at newspapers in his hometown of Pratt as well as Goodland and Liberal.

The Star-Journal reported that publisher Troy Wedel has begun a search to replace Lippoldt.

During the past two years, the Star-Journal has experienced several key leadership changes. Kip Wedel took over for former owner Stacy Stenseng when Wedel Publishing purchased the newspaper. He was succeeded by Bryan Maier as publisher. Troy Wedel took over as owner, publisher and editor after Maier resigned. Lippoldt was added to the staff as managing editor at that time.
