Class offered on parenting children

A class for Marion County parents will be held form 7 to 9 p.m., beginning Feb. 28.

The five-week class, held on Mondays, will be taught by Hillsboro school counselors Mike Moran and Tonya Wienck.

The curriculum will be based on ?Parenting for the Drug Free Years,? a research-based parenting program indicated in reduction of alcohol, tobacco and drug use, as well as general parenting skills.

Registration forms are available through school newsletters, at the Marion County Health Department and other agencies. Parents have a chance to vote for a class location.

The classes are free of charge and there will be door prizes and refreshments.

Child care and transportation are available. For more information, call Mike Moran at 947-3981, Tonya Wienck at 947-3297 or Linda Ogden at 785-983-4304.
