Canton-Galva boys? The Eagles used a huge second quarter to jump on top of Hutch Central Christian, then carried it to an easy win Tuesday night, 64-40. Jake Warren led Canton-Galva with 15 points, and Jake Hoppes scored 12.

Canton-Galva (6-8) lost to Class 2A power Inman on Friday, 60-48.

Canton-Galva girls? The Eagles outscored Hutch Central Christian in all four quarters on the way to a 59-45 win Tuesday night.

Sophomore Kylee Koehn led all scorers with 19 points. Keri Wedel scored 11 and Dana Regier 10.

The Eagles lost to Inman on Friday, 45-37.

Charlsie Unruh led Canton-Galva (6-8) with 12 and Regier scored 10.

Centre boys?Centre could not rally late, losing to Marion 57-50 in Lincolnville Tuesday night. The Cougars fell behind early and could never recover. The tied the Warriors in the second half, but could not take the lead.

Friday night, Centre lost to Wakefield 54-51. The two losses place the Cougars at 4-13.

Centre girls?The Cougars pulled off a pair of impressive wins, starting Marion on Tuesday night, 47-32. Erica Hatterman once again led Centre, scoring 20 points.

After trailing by a point at halftime, the Cougars went on a 20-6 run in the third quarter.

Centre defeated Wakefield Friday night, 71-29, in a runaway contest. The wins place the Cougars at 13-4.

Goessel boys?The Bluebirds lost to Berean Academy, 50-42, Tuesday after being outscored 17-12 in the fourth quarter. The game was close throughout, but the Warriors had too much firepower down the stretch.

Winston Goertz-Giffen led Goessel with 19 points and Landon Jordan added nine.

Goessel rebounded Friday night, defeating Hutch Central Christian 63-36. The split puts Goessel at 10-6 on the season.

Goessel girls?Goessel used a balanced attack Tuesday night to defeat a solid Berean Academy team 50-42. Sharp-shooting freshman Tara Goerzen scored 15 points to lead the Bluebirds.

Goessel defeated Central Christian Friday night, 52-29. Again, it was Goerzen leading the way with 13 points. Goessel is now 7-9.

Peabody-Burns boys?The Warriors lost the only game they played last week, 62-50 to Hutch Trinity. Peabody-Burns kept the contest close throughout, but could never make a decisive run to get back in the game.

Jeremy Sheffler led the Warriors (5-10) in a losing cause with 16 points.

Peabody-Burns girls?The Warriors kept the game close Friday night against Hutch Trinity, but a 29-6 Trinity run in the second quarter buried Peabody-Burns, 61-37. The loss puts Peabody-Burns at 2-13 on the season.

Marion boys?The Marion boys had by far their best week of the season by notching their first two wins of the season.

The Warriors defeated Centre 57-50 Tuesday night and Salina Sacred Heart 55-49 in overtime Friday.

Against Centre, junior guard Jamey Cooper scored 14 points for Marion. The two wins put Marion at 2-13 on the season.

Marion girls?The Marion girls basketball team suffered a pair of losses this past week, losing to Centre 47-32 Tuesday night and Salina Sacred Heart 64-36 Friday. The two losses put Marion at 3-13 on the year.
