A program about the Low-German-speaking Mennonites in Mexico and other areas of Latin America is planned for 3 p.m., Jan. 30, in the Parkview Church Fellowship Hall.
The speaker will be Wilmer Thiessen of Hillsboro. A veteran of several visits to the Mennonite colonies in Mexico, he will describe how the Mennonites live and some of the problems they face.
He also will discuss an organization called Friends of Plautdietsch and what it is doing for the Low-German Mennonites.
The public is invited to learn about this group and how to become involved in addressing the challenges the face.
